The Shreveport Homeschool Sports Track and Field team provides home-educated students the opportunity to compete in middle and high school track meets. We are members of ACEL (Association of Christian Educators of Louisiana) which conducts a regional track meet and a state track meet each year. We compete in Texas, Louisiana, and at the Homeschool Nationals each year held in Missouri. We value hard work and it pays off! Our athletes have performed very well against great athletes from around the country.
Each year to raise money for the track team we sell ads for our team tee and have our annual “Lap-a-thon”! For the lap-a-thon athletes seek sponsorship per lap they are able to run in an hour. Athletes can typically apply their sponsorship earnings toward their track fees. This has been a fun way for us to earn money for team supplies and meet fees and a great way for the athletes to get in shape while doing so!
